DanzaNova ~ The Soul-Shaking World Fusion Ensemble!
DanzaNova ~ The Soul-Shaking World Fusion Ensemble!
In preparation for the recording of their highly anticipated debut album, DanzaNova will present two exciting concerts in March and April in Manhattan. Their soul-shaking shows are versatile explorations of Ethnic World Music, performed by a group of fiery virtuoso musicians.
About DanzaNova
DanzaNova was created by Composer/Pianist/Accordionist Ronn Yedidia to bring to life music in its prime form of folk song and dance, while covering a variety of popular ethnic origins from the Middle East, Eastern & Central Europe and Latin America. Their programs also feature original compositions by Yedidia known as "KlezDances." The group is considered a World Fusion Ensemble, but in DanzaNova's case this term carries a larger meaning than the usual association with general Fusion music. It breaks standard boundaries, allowing modern classicism and world/folk (as opposed to jazz) to set the tone. The players display their abundant creativity in the realm of original improvisation, skillfully blending ethnic and contemporary elements which are executed with idiosyncratic virtuosity. DanzaNova's performances are passionate, emotional experiences of deep communication between music, musicians and listeners. One of their concerts at Merkin Concert Hall in New York prompted the Epoch Times to write: "As a dessert - the DanzaNova quintet took the stage.together they exhilarated the audience with tunes in the spirit of ethnicity and chanson. It was pure ethnic music which left the audience ecstatic with boundless pleasure!" ~ Epoch Times, May 2012 The Musicians of DanzaNova
