Edible Rex; written and performed by John Feffer
Edible Rex combines three unusual and true stories: Alexis Soyer's fabulous but forgotten Gastronomic Symposium of 1851, the author's food adventures in North Korea, Oklahoma, and other exotic locales, and the fraught relationship between the author and his father. Through food, music, and humor, Edible Rex looks at the tension between the pleasures of the moment and the legacies we leave behind.
The Washington City Paper called Edible Rex, "one of the best shows at Fringe this year." DC Theatre Scene called it "a must see" and awarded it five stars.
"Feffer is a brilliant writer and performer, "he's humorous, transportive, and when the production is done, you'll want to go and grab a meal with him", writes Erin Petty of the Washington City Paper. Tim Treanor at DC Theatre Scene writes, "Feffer, whose Krapp's Last Power Point was one of the surprise delights of last year's Fringe, here shows a stronger hand as a performer to go along with his excellent writing."
