Maeve Spain and Ted Davis in Concert
These two great vocalists will celebrate Swan Day by featuring the songs of their favorite female composers in back to back concerts. Maeve studied with New England jazz greats, Jean and Mel Sibulkin. She began her professional work performing as a vocalist with the Mel Sibulkin Trio and the Tom Caulkin Big Band, a twelve piece swing band, manned and womanned, exclusively by aerospace engineers. She continued her studies with Michael Oster at the Boston Cabaret Workshop and was chosen as a fellow at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center Cabaret Symposium. Maeve has performed in Europe, Australia, and locally at Ryles, Scullers Jazz Club, Club Café, Thelonius Monkfish, and with Ted Davis at the Cambridge Multicultural Arts Center in their show "Alone-Together." Her CD, "On the Loose," was released in 2006.
Ted has sung with and been praised by a who's who in New England music, celebrating his interpretive skill, natural phrasing, and rich lyrical voice. He has performed all over New England and is featured with Rebecca Parris on Louise van Aarsen's CD, "Destiny." His own CD, "My Favorite Year," was released in 2003.
Maeve Spain and Ted Davis will be joined by Doug Hammer on piano, John Baboian on guitar and Bruce Gertz on Bass.
