Unfinished Business: Ending U.S. Torture Forever
Sat Oct 16, 7:30 pm, at Town Hall Seattle, 1119 8th Ave at Seneca, downstairs, enter on Seneca St, Seattle; Washington State Religious Campaign Against Torture presents a talk by Presbyterian theologian and activist George Hunsinger, co-founder of National Religious Campaign Against Torture, on "Unfinished Business: Ending U.S. Torture Forever." Hunsinger, Princeton Theological Seminaryâs Hazel Thompson McCord Professor of Systematic Theology, is the recipient of the 2010 Karl Barth prize to be conferred in 2011 by the Union of Evangelical Churches in Germany. Co-sponsored by Washington State Religious Campaign Against Torture; National Religious Campaign Against Torture; Pax Christi Pacific Northwest; Western Washington Fellowship of Reconciliation; Seattle Chapter Fellowship of Reconciliation; Peace Action Group of Plymouth Congregational Church-United Church of Christ; United Nations Association of Greater Seattle; Amnesty International; University of Washington Center for Human Rights.
