Dance For A Cause: benefiting Safe Families for Children

San Clemente Dance PAC started a tradition four years ago of having a showcase performance called Dance For A Cause. At DFAC,our companies perform all of our competition routines before the season starts to give the families a chance to come and see all the routines without going to every competition. We turned this into a service project for the dancers and now it has become an annual fundraiser for a different charity each year.
This year we are going to be doing our showcase performance, DANCE FOR A CAUSE benefiting SAFE FAMILIES FOR CHILDREN. Safe Families for Children offers temporary and voluntary hosting for children, ages 0-18, whose parents are facing a crisis. This could be anything from homelessness, job transition, hospitalization, or need for respite. Families who choose to have their children hosted through SFFC are able to fully focus on getting back on their feet, while they have the peace of mind that their children are safe in a loving home. These temporary hostings average the length of 45 days and vary depending on each situation. Safe Families is a national organization that has been in Southern California for the past 5 years. During those years, SFFC host families have hosted over 1500 children and have played an important role in preventing child abuse, and strengthening families.
