Brewing For A Cure
This year, hosted by Harmony Hall (www.karencatering.com), this is the Second Annual Homebrewfest and Competition organized by Relay For Life Team Mac's Mixed Nuts (www.facebook.com/macsmixednuts)to Raise money for the American Cancer Society via the Relay For Life of Hummelstown-Hershey.
Homebrewers enter their beer in the competiton to be judged by a panel of judges (This year with special guest judge, Tierney Pomone of StoudtsandStilletos.com) as well as sampled and voted on by the public. Judges awards are given to the best brews as well as People's Choice Awards, which many times, means more than anything.
Our first event boasted 32 homebrewers and 50 beers to be sampled. At a cost of just $20 per ticket, with 75% of the ticket price going to the cause, fighting cancer doesn't get much better than that!
The event features a live "Americana Blues-Punk" musical performance by Headliners JT and The Mild Heat (jtandthemildheat.com) as well as the eclectic cover selections of Not Quite Einstein (www.notquiteeinstein.com).
