| | ÉvénementSolo Sundays - 2/15/15
DANGER is the motivating factor in all four of the pieces being performed on the Feb 15th Solo Sundays. The solo performers on the show candidly reveal how they responded to difficult circumstances that  they couldn't escape. In truth, I don't know how they made their pieces so funny. But they did.

 "And Now No Flip Flops?!"
 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Meet Eliza: divorced with an ex-wife she couldn't legally marry and cross-country co-custody of their 72 pound dog. Her search for a way to breathe again takes her from indoor sky diving to drill team tryouts, to making fish flashcards and yes, to losing her favorite flip flops.

East Hills is no place for a family of Cosby like kids like us. But this is where me, my little sister and my mother now call home. I miss living on Sugar Top with Etta James and Jackie Robinson. I don't like this new place. It makes me hold my breath as I walk home from the bus stop when it gets dark. I don't want anything bad to happen so I'm gonna do exactly what my mother told me do - walk in the middle of the street where the street light could shine its light on us. And in case somebody tries to approach me or my little sister with a threat, I'm gonna stab them in the throat with my house key wedged in-between my knuckles. Just like my mother showed me.

"A Brown Monkey Goes to McDonald's"
 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sahil makes the best Chicken Tikka Masala in upstate New York. He has said "thank you come again" to customers. He rode on camels and elephants through the jungles of India. Americans keep asking him these questions and the answers keep getting spicier. In Ithaca High School, Sahil is battling dual identities, Indian or American. How much to gain and what to loose? He wants to be popular, he wants to have lots of friends, lots of White friends but 9/11 happens and he fears that he doesn't belong in America anymore. Sahil is paranoid about the backlash. He doesn't understand why is he being lumped in with the terrorists, he eats pork (sometimes). Sahil has to re-dream his American dream in this new America.
