Liza Colby Sound provides a gritty, sexy, garage rock explosion that echos of '70s soul with a hard rock finish.

John Powhida is a singer/songwriter living in Boston. John is a multiple Boston Music Award nominee and his songs have been featured in episodes of My Name is Earl and Men in Trees. He has sung on recordings by The Click Five, Sarah Borges and The Gentlemen. You may have seen him perform with his beloved Boston rock and soul combo The Rudds or even as guitarist with rock n roll icon and author Bebe Buell.

The Liza Colby Sound has been shaking since 2009. Hailing from the Lower East Side of NYC, the 4-piece group is comprised of Liza Colby (vocals), Alec Morton (bass), and brothers Adam Roth (guitar) and Charly Roth (drums). A trio of tough players Morton and the Roth brothers produce a sweet sound with enough bite to match Liza Colby's mega-watt voice. The result is a gritty, sexy, garage rock explosion that echos of '70s soul with a hard rock finish.
