BLACK SWAN
Black Swan is a new 75 minute dancebased production to be choreographed by Iquail Shaheed to the music of artist/activist Nina Simone (1933-2003). The project explores the experience of the black ballerina as a window into issues of race, identity, and isolation, incorporating elements of performance art to investigate these psychological tensions. The production will be held in conjunction with an extensive community engagement campaign, including a series of panel discussions on the subject matter.
*This show involves some nudity.
