"Black Virgins are Not for Hipsters"

Echo is about to lose her virginity to a good looking white hipster that she met on Craigslist. This will happen in ten minutes. That gives Echo just enough time to do exactly what you shouldn't do the first time you are about to get laid: contemplate America's racial problems. Echo is black. So she's used to pondering race. But she doesn't want to ponder race IN THIS MOMENT. Right now, all she wants to do is convince herself that she is beautiful, despite a lifetime of conditioning to the contrary. To make herself believe in her own beauty, Echo will pray to all of the gods, call her best friend over 20 times, and talk to her cat about the meaning of life.

Chivalry is dead because we killed it. What is wrong with a man being polite? If Safiya gets up for one more pregnant lady or old person on the bus while a man sits spread eagle averting his eyes, she's going to scream. Somewhere along the way we've vilified courtesy and no one knows what to do about it.

"Who's Next?"

Sarah wants to eat all the donuts, and she can't stop thinking about falling down a flight of stairs. Despite her best efforts, she can't seem to date her way out of her problems. Therapy doesn't seem to be helping much, either. Who Sarah was has everything to do with who she is now - or maybe not. The trick is for her to tell the whole truth, for once.
