Battle of the Bands 2020

The Historic Salem Courthouse is thrilled to announce its second annual Battle of the Bands Competition in partnership with RS Taylor & Sons Brewery. This fundraiser will be held at RS Taylor & Sons Brewery in Hebron, NY (360 County Route 30) on Saturday, June 20th at 3 pm; a perfect day as it coincides with the summer solstice. Get ready to enjoy the longest day of the year with music, good food, and some of RS Taylors special brews for what has become The Woodstock of Washington County.

There will be some enhancements from last years event. First, there will be more food options. In addition to the pizza and wraps offered, there will also be chicken BBQ for purchase. We are confident there will be enough food for everyone to enjoy. There will also be additional port-a-potties located throughout the property, so rest assured there will be fewer lines! Extra parking will be available in a nearby field, with a shuttle to transport people to and from the event. There is also a trail available to take on foot that cuts through the woods from the field to the event if you are a little more adventurous. We do not want people to park on Rte 30 so please be mindful of this.

If you didnt attend last years Battle here is a brief description and history of the event. Iris Rogers, the owner of Homestead Hemp, created this event and will be managing it again this year. Nine registered bands perform, with a total of four rounds of competition. For every round, three different bands will compete against each other. There will be a panel of judges who will determine each bands score with a point system, and the band with the most points at the end of each round will continue on to the final sudden death round. Those finalists will compete against each other for the $1,000 prize! New this year will be a second-place $500.00 prize.
