053021 Neighborhood Tour
The Made in Brooklyn Neighborhood Tour is an award-winning walking tour with a "Made in Brooklyn" theme. The tour blends Brooklyn's distinguished history with visits to creative people and small businesses.
Visitors will get a proud native Brooklynite's perspective on what made Brooklyn so great and on what makin' it in Brooklyn means today. We'll see how innovations of the Industrial Revolution led to the birth of the City of Brooklyn and how the creativity, ingenuity and entrepreneurial spirit lives on today.
At each step of the way we'll travel back and forth through time from the heights of Brooklyn's Industrial Revolution to our Digital Age. From the building of the Brooklyn Bridge to the beginnings of our newest brick and mortar businesses. We'll walk past what was the decaying waterfront of the 1970s and '80s and see how it has been transformed into the creative communities of artists, artisans and makers of the present.

About Me
I'm Dom Gervasi and I'm a native Brooklynite from Bensonhurst. I started Made in Brooklyn Tours® in 2011 after a career working for communications equipment manufacturers. Inspired by makers I discover on my travels abroad, it's my business to seek out who's "makin' it" here in Brooklyn. I personally designed all Made in Brooklyn Tours®, am a licensed NYC Sightseeing Guide and advocate for sustainable tourism as a member of the Impact Travel Alliance.
Directions
Tours begin and end in Brooklyn in the historic waterfront neighborhood of DUMBO at a point reachable by public transportation including the ferry. Detailed directions will be sent to you shortly before your tour date.

Refund Policy
ALL SALES ARE FINAL AND NON-REFUNDABLE. There are no partial refunds for no shows, late arrivals or partial attendance. Tours are held rain or shine, hot or cold. Tours may be canceled due to extenuating circumstances beyond our control.
FAQ
Are these food or beverage tours?
Strictly speaking, Made in Brooklyn Tours® are not culinary tours though there may be tasting opportunities. Food and drinks are not included in the ticket price and alcohol is strictly prohibited while we walk.
May I shop on the tour?
Absolutely! Guests are not discouraged from shopping for Made in Brooklyn souvenirs if it doesn't take too long. Shopping is just one of the ways we engage with the makers we'll visit.
How long is the tour? How much walking do we do?
The tour lasts about 3 hours. We walk about 1.5 miles and make frequent stops.
Is the tour appropriate for children?
Made in Brooklyn Tours® are designed for adults 18 years and older.
Are tours offered in languages other than English?
While the tour is English only that hasn't stopped visitors from around the world from having a good time!
What should I wear? What should I bring?
Dress appropriately for the weather, wear comfortable footwear and bring something to drink!
Are tips accepted?
Gratuities aren't included in the ticket price, but are greatly appreciated!
Can I get there by car?
Made in Brooklyn Tours® are accessible by public transportation and ferry. Driving to the tour is not recommended as parking may be difficult.
Where exactly do we go?
The itinerary and route varies and no two tours are the same.
Where do we end?
Made in Brooklyn Tours® end a short walk away from where we start near public transportation and the ferry.
Are there restrooms on the tour?
Please use the restroom before we start. Restrooms are available at different points along the way. If you need one, please go when we arrive at a place where one is available.
Are tours wheelchair and stroller accessible?
Unfortunately, the tour is difficult to navigate with a wheelchair or stroller.
