Montclair Unity Music Festival
A festive evening of four hours of eclectic music including Jazz, R&B, Blues, Folk, Pop, New Age and Hindustani classical with internationally and locally known musicians, on Thursday 10/17, 6-10 pm in Montclair NJ. This is a BYOB affair and ticket prices include refreshments. Musicians on hand for this evening are internationally known New York Blues Hall of Famer Bobby Harden the lead singer for the Blues Brothers Band; Jackie Jones an awesome jazz and blues singer; Dave Rimelis, a guitarist and violinist whose music has been performed by orchestras internationally including the Boston Pops.
Additional musicians include Carol Vasquez a singer, songwriter with a love for Jazz and American Standards and who is currently the Music Director for Unity of Montclair; jazz pianist Ted Brancato who has performed and recorded with Houston Person, Ron Carter, Christian McBride, Milt Jackson, Ernestine Anderson and Paquito D'Rivera among others; Matt King a pianist, organist, vocalist, composer & arranger based in the NYC area; The Levins a wonderfully uplifting folk duo; Andrew Shantz who founded the fusion group Sangha to bring together the two primary musical streams in his life: jazz and Hindustani classical; WINCEY, a native of Newark, NJ, who worked with industry giants like Spike Lee, Bill Cosby, Sting and Tina Turner and Jane Stuart an exciting, refreshing and well accomplished jazz / R&B vocalist and actress on the New York scene along with her husband Rick deKovessey.
