"Things We Wish to Say" Book Launch &" Danseur" Movie Screening

A celebration of the dance art form in a children's picture book and a documentary film, this evening is the perfect culmination for dance enthusiasts and their families. The book is written by Austin author, Anna Bauereis, inspired by poetry from her late son, Alexei Bauereis. "Danseur" is a documentary that focuses on the bullying of male ballet dancers. The younger Bauereis is also featured in the movie "Danseur", one of its brilliant youth stars.

Alexei Bauereis lost his life in a tragic pedestrian accident in 2O16, at the age of 14. Friends and family say Alexei was a very special young man who left a life-long impression and a true legacy of joy and love. He was a young man whose love and exuberance for life were always apparent, but never as much as when he was dancing. The children's picture book Things We Wish to Say is a compilation of Alexei's words.
