COWPIE, a shortened moniker for Committee of Wyoming People in the East, is held in Washington, DC during the opening weekend of Cheyenne Frontier Days. For those who don't know, Cheyenne, Wyoming is home to the largest rodeo in North America (the "Daddy of 'em All"). Festivities include everything from bull-riding to nightly boot-scoot'n concerts.

The first COWPIE, held in 1977, began the longest living tradition of the Wyoming State Society. Wyoming folk get cowboyed-up in their best boots, hats, and big belt buckles for a night of country dancing and western revelry. Dedication to COWPIE among the Wyoming folk is legendary. All are welcome, whether you're a born-and-raised Wyomingite, or just appreciate a night in the Wild West! The event features a live country band, open bar, and a mechanical bull.

This year, we will be raising money for Project Healing Waters. Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing began in 2005 serving wounded military service members at Walter Reed Army Medical Center returning from combat in Iraq and Afghanistan. Since then, it has expanded nationwide. Project Healing Waters brings a high-quality, full-spectrum fly fishing program to an ever-expanding number of disabled active military service personnel across the Veterans Affairs Healthcare System, in Military Hospitals and the Warrior Transition Command. PHWFF has become recognized as an innovative leader and model in the field of therapeutic outdoor recreation for the disabled, through its successful application of the sport of fly fishing as a rehabilitation tool. SUGGESTED DONATION IS $5 or $10.

All Wyoming State Society Members who have paid their dues during the 2019 Calendar Year are able to attend COWPIE free of charge. Please email visit www.wystatesociety.org/pay-dues/ to pay your dues via credit card, or mail a check (no cash please) to the WSS P.O. Box (credit card preferred). MEMBERS MUST PAY DUES BY 11:59PM ON MONDAY, JULY 1st. AFTER THIS, MEMBERS WHO HAVE NOT PAID DUES FOR THE YEAR MUST PURCHASE A PUBLIC TICKET.

For non-Wyoming State Society members, a ticket includes an open bar for the full night. We also offer a Dry Ticket for $25 (includes non-alcoholic beverages all evening).
