Songwriters Night with Michael Braunfeld, Jason Ager, EFRAT and Aaron Nathans
Aaron Nathans and Avi Wisnia host Songwriters Night, a monthly residency showcasing some of the best local and touring songwriters. June's event features Aaron Nathans, Michael Braunfeld, EFRAT and Jason Ager, presented in the round.
About Michael Braunfeld:
Michael Braunfeld is, first and foremost, a storyteller. His songs capture the everyday triumphs and struggles of ordinary people. His characters though trapped in the particular circumstances of their own lives appeal to a universal audience. Braunfeld was welcomed into the Writers Night Family at The Bluebird Cafe in 2014 and was named a finalist in the Grassy Hill Kerrville New Folk Competition in 2016, 2018 and 2019. About Jason Ager:
Jason Ager is a dedicated father, a passionate college professor, and a hyper-literate original songwriter. Balancing a Ph.D. in German Literature with a few days a week as a stay-at-home dad, Ager still plays more than 100 shows a year in the Mid-Atlantic region and beyond. On his third album, "Porchlight," Ager's talent as a storyteller shines as he weaves together the academic and the arcane into clever lyrics that reward the careful listener. Nestled comfortably atop classic soul, R&B, and rock influences, songs like "Overload" and "Everybody Needs Love" epitomize Ager's ability to rouse hearts and minds in the same breath. About EFRAT:
EFRAT has been hailed by John Platt (WFUV, Bronx) as "the consummate musician" She tantalizes audiences with intricate instrumentals and singing/songwriting in folk/jazz/pop/blues and genre-blending songs. Performing on violin, keyboard, vocals and loopers, her sets are eclectic and engaging leaving audiences in delight. Her first CD, a jazz release, had her title track, "No Strings Attached 2010," in an indie film trailer that garnered over 10 million views. About Aaron Nathans:
Aaron Nathans' mission is to write songs about things that no one else has written about before. Nathans' shows include humorous, meandering stories that will keep you every bit as captivated as the music itself beautiful guitar work, catchy melodies, and his sweet baritone voice and incredible vocal range. He was named a New Folk finalist at the Kerrville Folk Festival in both 2018 and 2011. In addition to performing solo he is one-half of Nathans & Ronstadt, a guitar-cello duo with Michael G.
