Julia Levitina and Kyle Swartzwelder
Singer-songwriters Julia Levitina and Kyle Swartzwelder will each perform a set and they may even do a song or two together.

About Julia Levitina:
Born and raised in Odessa, Ukraine, but now calling Philadelphia her home, singer-songwriter Julia Levitina is bringing a global perspective to her unique brand of Americana. Subtly blending in Russian and French folk influences from her youth, her debut EP, "Take Your Time Loving Me," is a snapshot of an artist who has literally and figuratively crossed oceans and seas to pursue her dreams. The album, co-produced with acclaimed Philadelphia singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist John Faye, and cut primarily at Cambridge Sound Studio in South Philadelphia, is about finding courage to go the distance while on a quest for fulfillment and self-discovery. The subsequently released single, "Apricot Sky," recorded and engineered by another acclaimed singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Cliff Hillis, continues in the vein of Levitina's oddball feel-good folk-rock tunes, this time drawing its inspiration from the story of the Wright Brothers.

Levitina's musical influences include chanson française and the likes of Jacques Brel, Serge Gainsbourg and Francis Cabrel, as well as the great Russian bards, such as Vladimir Vysotsky and Aleksandr Dolsky. They find an unexpected home alongside her more current favorites, like Indigo Girls and Josh Ritter.

She has played the Tin Angel, World Cafe Live, The Grape Room, Bourbon & Branch and the Legendary Dobbs in Philadelphia; Coffee Works and Saxbys Coffeehouse in New Jersey; Burlap & Bean in Newtown Square and Chesapeake Arts Center in Baltimore, among others. She has also performed at assorted venues in France and Italy.

About Kyle Swartzwelder:
A veteran of the folk scene, award-winning songwriter Kyle Swartzwelder has been winning audiences over with his deft lyrical storytelling and dynamic live performances. His music is recommended if you like Lyle Lovett, Ryan Adams, Jeffrey Foucault, Josh Ritter, early Jackson Browne and early Neil Young.

Swartzwelder's latest recording, "Canadian Pacific," further serves this reputation. And if there were any questions about Kyle's diverse musical influences, these questions are quickly put to rest within the first few songs of the album. From the steady sparseness of "Right Here" to the traditional country feel of "Mexican Wine," listeners will find themselves immersed in a rich musical landscape. For his efforts on the "Canadian Pacific" record, Swartzwelder was awarded the WSTW (93.7 FM) Homey Award for Best Folk Artist and nominated as the Artist of the Year.

Swartzwelder started out performing in coffee shops around the University of Delaware with his father's 1968 Ovation Balladeer. After several years of cultivating his songwriting, he moved on to the folk clubs and coffeehouses in the Philadelphia region and quickly developed a reputation as a top-notch songwriter and performer. 2008 saw the release of Kyles first album, an eight song, self-titled record, on 13:13 Records. The record was greeted by rave reviews, being called "perfect" and a "polished gem." The album was even nominated as for a Homey Award for Best Album of the Year and he received the Homey Award for Best Male Artist of 2008.
