Bus Stop
In the middle of an icy blizzard, all roads are blocked and a bus out of Kansas City pulls up at a roadside diner. Held over for the night, five very different travelers including a young rancher, Beau Decker, returning from a rodeo with his older sidekick, a dancer, Cheri, who has been abducted by the rancher who wants to marry her, and an alcoholic old professor, Dr. Lyman, who has an eye for very young girls. Beau tries to convince Cheri that he loves her and that she should marry him. Cheri enlists the aid of the local Sheriff to help her. Dr. Lyman spouts Shakespeare and tries to sweep a young teenage waitress off her feet, but instead gets drunker and drunker.
As the night progresses, drama and overtones of comedy ensue, but as the sun rises we realize that each character has something to learn about life, love and most of all about themselves.
Written by William Inge, Bus Stop is a four time Tony Award nominee. Settle in for the ride with the talented cast of CSP's production of Bus Stop.
