LUNAFEST® Boston 2019, benefiting Budget Buddies

Join us on Wednesday, April 24th at Calderwood Pavilion at the Boston Center for the Arts for a LUNAFEST Film Night supporting Budget Buddies. Eight compelling short films by, for, and about women! Pre-screening reception with cash bar and hors d'oeuvres by Plaza Catering Boston. Doors open at 6:00PM.

All proceeds support Budget Buddies in its mission to empower low-income women through financial literacy.

Budget Buddies is a nonprofit organization that financially empowers low-income women and at-risk teen girls through robust collaboration with homeless shelters, housing authorities, and other social-service agencies. Our innovative 6-month program combines in-depth 1-to-1 mentoring with comprehensive workshops customized for each agency. We seek lasting empowerment of women and girls who live on the economic margins by enhancing their money-management skills and economic confidence.

Since 2010, Budget Buddies has run 61 programs in partnership with 31 agencies and trained more than 470 volunteer Coaches to mentor over 550 women. We have developed a Spanish-language program and a curriculum for at-risk teen girls. From our home in Lowell and Lawrence, we have expanded north to Nashua, NH and south to Boston.

As Budget Buddies builds more programs in Boston, we are hosting a LUNAFEST Boston event to raise awareness about, and build support for, our work.
