The duo brings an evening of original, traditional, and swing music with mandolinist/vocalist Steve Smith and Nashville guitarist/vocalist Tim May. These two musicians have collaborated in studio and on stages nationwide and now bring their acoustic brand of fire on the strings to Dallas. Their shows include tight vocals, dazzling guitar, mandolin, octave mandolin, and twin mandolin works throughout a broad range of styles.
Inspired by the groundbreaking contributions to music by the Carter Family, Tim May & Steve Smith's latest recording is an expression of respect for the Carter Family that explores new paths as well. The duet album includes such features a swing version of Little Darlin' Pal of Mine and a haunting acapella duet of Sailor Boy. Over 250 songs were considered for the project, and the duo narrowed the selection down to their eight favorites. This will be an evening of music featuring terrific vocal harmony and expert musicianship with nothing to hide!
Tickets (all general admission) are $13.50 in advance or $15 at the door. Kids 15 and under get in free! Space is limited, so please get your tickets today.
A portion of the proceeds from this event will benefit the non-profit 501c3 Bluegrass Heritage Foundation. The mission of the Bluegrass Heritage Foundation is to preserve and promote the heritage of bluegrass music in America, with a focus on promoting bluegrass music in Texas. The Foundation seeks to educate the public about this distinctly American form of music with roots in Irish, Scottish, and English traditional music through educational programs and workshops, public performances of bluegrass music, historic preservation efforts, and other similar programs.
