Robert Patrick's LAST INTERVIEW
Robert Patrick , sick of being introduced as the oldest living gay playwright, will deliver at the ONE National Gay and Lesbian Archives at USC his last official discussion on the origins of Off-Off Broadway and gay theatre, in which he will respond to prepared queries from moderator Brian DeShazor, as well as all inquiries from the audience, about his experience of the Caffe Cino and La Mama in their earliest decades.
Learn how a tiny, unassuming coffeehouse, largely created by gay refugees from straight America, spawned two Pulitzer Prize winning playwrights, several Tony winners and nominees, Al Pacino, Bernadette Peters and a worldwide theatrical movement. Mister Patrick will also be donating posters and photographs to the Archives, a beautifully-landscaped sanctuary for LGBTQ historical materials.
