AKITA

AKITA is a 6 piece funk band out of Charlotte, NC started by drummer Patrick Buckley and bassist Zak Ferrell. Once you add in saxophonist Charlie Lamprecht, trombonist Dan Hamalainen, guitarist Sam Farnham and keyboardist Tomi Gulden their sound becomes an unstoppable force of funk that you cant help but move to.

Taking cues from legendary funk bands such as James Brown, The Meters, Lettuce, Maceo Parker, Vulfpeck, Sly & The Family Stone, George Clinton, Tower of Power and others they infuse a new twist on funk incorporating reggae and elements of funk-rock into their songs. They have curated their own party Culture Shift with the intention of growing their name in the local Charlotte scene and the southeast as a whole.

They have built a strong following in a relatively short period of time opening for Funk You, Litz, Red Baraat, Andy Frasco & The U.N. and others. Much of their initial traction is due to their emphasis on writing memorable melodies and deep grooves that are undeniably built to make you move! The band plans to release their 1st full-length album in late spring of 2019.

MENASTREE

Menastree- was born in the early summer of 2014, originating from Charlotte North Carolina.
Beginning with musician/producer and videographer DJ Lil Tone, Musician/producer Jesse Lemar Williams and musician/vocalist Jeremy Mayher. Menastree created their formula for their sound by backing various artist deriving from various genres and performing at festivals such as SXSW. As a result of the new age mashup sound with elements of hip-hop/trap/jazz/house and R&B. By January 2017 Menastree had officially been established.

Solidifying the establishment with the particularly chosen additions of Zach Wheeler , Braxton Bateman , Malcolm Charles, Waneisha Nish Massey , Curt Keyz , Stefan Kallander , and Marcus Jones. Jesse Lamar Williams then planted Menastree in the heart of Charlotte North Carolinas art district Noda at the corner of E. 36th St. and N. Davidson Ave. at the prestigious listening room The Evening Muse where they can often be found cultivating the culture in a monthly residency.

COSMIC SHIFT

Cosmic Shift is a jam band out of Nashville, Tennessee. Some have described their sound as space funk, though it can range wildly through many genres. More integral to the music than any genre or style is the renewing experience that many have at their shows. Cosmic Shift seeks to prove to the audience that each one of them is just as important to the creative collaboration as any person on stage. Deep improvisation is a vehicle that allows each show to have a unique flavor. If you are looking for a great time with good people, come join the party.
