Founded in 1963 by Dr. Theodore Marier, an internationally acclaimed choral scholar, Saint Pauls Choir School is the premiere musically intensive boy choir school, which educates choristers in grades 3 through 8 in the United States. The Choir School seeks to embrace the great cathedral school tradition as it unites a rigorous musical and academic curriculum preparing each student to grow and flourish in a dynamic and changing world.
Having performed frequently with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, with many notable conductors including Itzhak Perlman, and having performed on the road from Carnegie Hall to St. Peters Square at a papal audience for Pope Francis to Red Sox and Celtics games, the boys of St. Pauls Choir School have covered much diverse and musically challenging territory.
Having topped the Billboard classical charts with the release of "Christmas in Harvard Square", the choir released a second CD, "Ave Maria" last year to rave reviews.
John Robinson, Director of Music at St Pauls Church, Harvard Square, is responsible for the training and direction of The Choir of St. Pauls in daily sung Mass, and oversees thriving church and school music departments. In serving the liturgy at St Pauls Church, this renowned choir of boys and men performs music ranging from Gregorian Chant to a modern and contemporary repertoire. Since moving to the USA, Mr. Robinson has played an active role in directing Youth Singing festivals as well as advising in Church music appointments. As an organist, Mr. Robinsons recordings are available on the Priory, Hyperion, Herald, York Ambisonic and Syrinx labels.
