Trauma 101: Understanding Trauma, Resilience and Trauma-Informed Care
WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING ABOUT THIS TRAUMA 101 TRAINING:

"United Way of Lancaster County in partnership with the Lancaster Coalition to Combat Poverty was pleased to offer the RMO's Trauma 101 training to early childhood educators and stakeholders.  The training was a useful blend of scientific research, qualitative accounts, and practical application with an important focus on resilience. Participant feedback was resoundingly positive with requests for follow-up trainings on specific strategies to support young children and families facing trauma.  There is clearly a need for a broader trauma-informed perspective in our community and Trauma 101 is an essential step in the right direction." - Andrea Heberlein, MSW, Vice President of Strategic Impact, United Way of Lancaster County

"The RMO's Trauma 101 training is excellent and I found it very helpful. Even though I was already seeking to implement trauma-informed practices in programs at our agency, this training provided a broader and more complete foundation for understanding trauma and resilience than I had previously. Many staff from our agency have now taken this training and I highly recommend it for everyone who interacts with people who have experienced trauma as children or as adults." - Roger Steffy, Vice President for Programs, Tabor Community Services

"Trauma 101 takes on the challenge of engaging us in a journey to better understand the lasting impact of trauma.  The presenters are masterful in their approach that blends facts with personal stories, self-reflection, and self-care, highlighting the trauma, but also leading us to embrace resilience and recovery." - Dr. Hilda Shirk, MSW, President & CEO, Lancaster Health Center (formerly SouthEast Lancaster Health Services)

"Melanie Snyder [lead instructor] is certified through the GAINS center and her Trauma 101 trainings are not only educational they are insightful, experiential and moving." - Mary LeVasseur, NCTTP, NBC-HWC, Manager of Community Health and Wellness, Lancaster General Health
