Punching Up Workshop with Kate Symes and Lisa Kays
We've all been there and we will be again. Unfortunate, usually accidental, turns of scenes into racist, sexist, homophobic, ableist, or misogynistic themes.
Learn how to turn these moments into opportunities--for social justice and better scenework.
Kate Symes, D.C. improviser, teacher, and coach, and Lisa Kays, D.C. improviser and licensed clinical social worker, will walk you through the five steps of handling scary, vulnerable and offensive moments on stage with integrity and bold choices that will leave everyone, including the audience, feeling respected and engaged.
This workshop is open to any improviser.
We want for this to be a socioeconomically diverse workshop as well, so if cost is the only barrier to your attendance, please email Lisa Kays at Lisa@LisaKays.com to make arrangements for a partial or full scholarship.
Pricing: $60, or sign up with a friend and get 2-for-$90 (Use code BRINGAFRIEND).
If you'd rather pay by check than online, please email Lisa Kays at Lisa@LisaKays.com for instructions on how to do so!
