TOTAL SCIENCE
C.I.A. / Metalheadz / UK
++~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~++
Jason Greenhalgh (Q-Project) and Paul Smith (Spinback) first met in 1987 brought together through a mutual love of hip-hop music. Over the coming years, the pair developed a deep appreciation for Techno and Dance music at the start of its worldwide takeover. By 1991, Spinback was an established DJ, gracing the decks at events week in week out, including the world famous Universe. Q-Project entered the studio too, with his first release "Freestyle Fanatic". Their first label, Legend Records was launched with Q-Projects highly acclaimed "Champion Sound" in 1992. It took their profile to new heights, and it remains one of the most influential tunes of its time and generation this was swiftly followed by the start of their early recording career together under the name Funky Technicians  and so the unstoppable collaboration had begun.

In 1997, the well-established pair launched the Computer Integrated Audio (C.I.A) label and the alias Total Science, was born. Over the coming years, Total Science had releases on all the major D&B labels including Metalheadz, Good Looking, Moving Shadow, Hospital, Tru Playaz, 31 Records (Doc Scott), Reinforced, Soul:r, Shogun Audio to name but a few, as well as releases under their own C.I.A. and various other imprints.

Total Science/ Q-Project have release 4 albums, however, the actual number of singles and EPs the pair have released is currently an unknown quantity. Their relentless yearning to create music and dogged approach denotes there are just too many to mention!

However, defining tracks of Total Sciences 20 Year career include:
Q Project - Champion Sound (Total Science Remix)

Funky Technicians - Airtight

As DJs Total Science have been touring globally for over a decade, regularly requested and in demand from the USA, Australia, New Zealand & Japan to the present day. They have a strong presence and dedicated following across the whole of Europe and in the UK, playing in all major regions and cities and regularly listed at top London venues.
In recent times Total Science have collaborated with a few select artists, most recognized is their work with Brazilian wonder kid S.P.Y. The pair became a threesome sharing ideas and studio space, and magic was made, the defining moments of this ultimate link-up being Gangsta, Testimony (feat Riya ) , Legion, Venus Prime, and Ghostrider, & more recently on S.P.Y's second album "Back to Basics" which they were present on 4 tracks . Their ongoing collaboration with vocalist Riya (Laura Pacheco) over the years has resulted in many appearances and Top Ten status with tracks "Redlines" "Piano Funk" & "See Your Face" the title track from their 2013 EP on Shogun Audio . Other notable projects include the impressive, "Another Time" (featuring Grimm) on Spearhead Various output on Shogun Audio including "Positive Vibrations , the massive "Scatter" from the Friction Verses series, two tracks on Riya's album for Spearhead (one of which Mixmag also premiered) and a Top 10 collaboration with Quadrant & Iris on C.I.A

Since 2016, the duo have released Found A Reason Why a collaboration with FD which appeared on their own CIA Records imprint. They will be returning to their second home, Goldies Metalheadz this year with the 'Notes of Blue EP' and on Dispatch (for a track with Nymfo) Its also CIAs 20th birthday this year so they have worked on a Various Artist album which will feature long time players Calibre, Break, S.P.Y., Digital & Spirit to name a few. BACHELORS OF SCIENCE
CODE Recs / Spearhead / Dirtybird / Fokuz / Intrigue / SF)
++~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~++
Few artists to emerge from North Americas Drum & Bass culture have made such a significant or enduring impact as San Francisco trio Bachelors of Science. Formed in 2005, the group has carved out an unmistakable signature sound that spans the full emotional scope of the genre. With over a decade of memorable releases and a quality-over-quantity mindset, they are regarded as one of the most consistently innovative and sought-after remixers and producers in the industry, working with everyone from dance music legends Groove Armada, Justin Martin and Paradox to Worthy and Gappy Ranks.

Over the years the Bachelors continue to defy those that try to categorize them into a single style or genre. From deep liquid over to the harder dance floor sounds of DnB, to minimal inspired 170 halftime and even sun-drenched 4/4 grooves BoS have retained their quality and a large and loyal following throughout, picking up the Beatport award for Best Drum n Bass single, and garnering steady DJ support from artists like LTJ Bukem, High Contrast, Friction, S.P.Y, Spectrasoul, Doc Scott, Bryan Gee, DJ Marky, and many more. Having released music on labels like Spearhead, Dirtybird, Fokuz, Horizons and Intrigue, in 2012 they launched CODE Recordings as an outlet for their music as well as standout productions from some of the top artists in the DnB scene.

On stage BoS bring an energy and vibe that is all their own and matched by none. From top clubs like Fabric and Ministry of Sound to festivals and events such as Tomorrowland, Hospitality and Liquicity, the guys regularly perform around the world taking the crowd on a unique journey with everything from originals and bootlegs to custom edits of cutting edge tracks and past future classics.

DEFINITION POSITIVE
JUICE! / DnB Radio / Salem / PDX
++~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~++
After broad exposure to Jazz, Salsa, and R&B growing up, Donahue Holland aka Definition: Positive learned to appreciate the deeper side of some of these genres, and how it affects and drives emotion. His passion for music and mixing exploded in the Los Angeles rave scene during the mid 90s, nurturing this new love for electronic music. Once experiencing Drum and Bass, he shifted gears permanently; realizing that this style was the missing part of his musical soul.

Former resident DJ at Nova Express Cafe, Futurebound Radio, LA, and LiquidBass.net, Def Pos became an LA staple representing these unique sounds. Since relocating to Salem, guest appearances have included Bassdrive, Signal Flow Radio LA, DnBTV and countless live performances all around Oregon with some heavy-hitters such as the Bachelors of Science, Artificial Intelligence, Ben Soundscape, ASIDES, Calculon, MC Question Mark, Doc Scott, and more.

Now host of the weekly radio show Atmospheriq Tides, Fridays, and resident artist at JUICE! Drum and Bass nights in Portland, Def Pos delivers soulful grooves and funky baselines with a level of quality and sound not to be missed.
