Cinematic is the word most often used to describe Minneapolis- based Marah in the Mainsail. With layers upon layers of dynamic turns, from the hopeful highs of Fox hole to the guttural darkness of the Great Beyond." Between Durrys true grit voice and Mercedes' tender subtlety there's a vast array of narrative and stylistic elements. Their sound is made with imposing and wild jungle drums, soaring brass horns, growling bass, and shimmering spaghetti western guitars, all blanketed under a sinister vintage organ.

MinM's credo is that "we set out to create something new. Something outside the industry standard. Something hard to define, but easy to understand. We strive to bring the in-depth experience of the cinema and literature to the music scene. Please join us in this grand experiment of the arts."

Ball & Chain is a stripped down acoustic rock duo with a girl from the mountains of Virginia and a boy from the Bronx. The regional musical influences of each coalesce into melodious tension. Passion and sass pervade Jon & Lucindas blend of rock, R&B, blues, and new country resulting in vocals and harmonies that stroke your soul. And if you dont have a soul, then youll probably still enjoy listening to some good music. Original Americana with an edge, eclectic covers thrown in for good measure. Adult alternative for those who like to classify.
