Event Description:
Learn how to maximize quality in your portraits while minimizing the fuss. For beginners through working photographers, this includes straight forward, easy to understand techniques for lighting, composition, and reducing workflow with an emphasis on staying portable.
In this lively workshop, you will not only learn useful information for taking better portraits, but for taking better photos in general. Using a combination of classroom style and live demonstration with real time results being shown in the first half of the workshop, David offers a truly unique and effective learning opportunity to the attendees.
In the second half of the workshop you will participate in a hands-on photoshoot with the models, practicing the techniques covered in the first half and getting some great photos. So bring your cameras, lenses, and flashes. There will be opportunities to try out some other equipment as well!
With the help of a live models you will learn:
* Use of Speedlights (flash) on & off-camera
* Achieving Balance with TTL or Manual
* Flash modification - Softbox, Reflectors
* How to pose and create a rapport with your subject
* Color balancing techniques
* Lens choice and usage
From lighting to composition, from preparing for the shoot to reducing workflow, and much, much more.

The Cause:
More than 39,000 veterans are homeless on any given night. About half of those are Vietnam era, with the others having returned from Iraq and Afghanistan. (HUD) In an effort to help & give back to those who courageously served our country, we are collaborating with Volunteers Of America to help fund their Veterans program, bringing much needed help in the form of Mental Health Assistance, Transitional Housing, Reintegration programs, and Vocational Assistance.
