O-1 A Beautiful Morning: The Songs of Keurim Hur
After over twenty years of legal residence in the United States, Keurim Hur is being sent back to her technical home country of South Korea--for now. Come help turn her send-off concert into an event that even Immigration Services will consider a major enough artistic achievement to let her get her visa, come back, and continue writing in a country where she actually speaks the language. Cast to be announced.
Keurim is a writer of musicals, straight plays, screenplays, short stories, novels, various improbable pilots, and tweets for other people. She holds a BA in Film, Television, and Theatre from the University of Notre Dame, an MFA in Writing from the California Institute of the Arts, and an MFA from the Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program at New York University. Her full-length musicals include Big Deal (book and lyrics; lyrics and music by Jacob Fjeldheim) and Unshelved (book; lyrics by Emily Chiu, music by Xiodan Zhang), and her one-act Rapunzel (book and lyrics; music by Gianni Onori) will be presented in the 6th Annual DISCOVER: New Musicals program with the National Asian Artists Project this winter, which she will not be here to see. Tragic, right?
