Emerging Artists returns with their one-of-a-kind festival. Visit the theater any evening during this three-week event, and you'll find yourself transported in a number of surprising ways: by a single performer embodying a whole host of characters; by a non-traditional piece that challenges and delights; by a cozy two-person show exploring relationships; or perhaps by a bouncy new musical that has you humming. Emerging Artists has always been about new works, new talents, new voices. That's never been more evident than now.

A hilarious and honest one-woman show about a Jewish-German immigrant girl who grows up in a crazy artist family in downtown New York and is fascinated by Hitler. All she wants is to be normal and to belong. But the odds are against her. And so is homeland security.

"The Negro Whisperer" is a one-woman tragi-comedy about a mythological figure who travels through time and space to give advice and warnings to African-Americans.

Waiting for hours to be located and rescued Elizabeth Alice Murray takes on multiple character as she recounts her journey from panic and anxiety to resentment and optimistic mania.

Using movement, song, monologue, and otherworldly images, the piece pings between Hurricane Sandy, our obsession with apocalyptic movies, NPR's narcoleptic effect, and the million trivial tasks that preoccupy us while Rome burns.
