Rachael Kilgour / Korby Lenker
Rachael Kilgour

Based out of Duluth, MN, singer-songwriter Rachael Kilgour has built a devoted following over the last ten years, captivating audiences with a balance of provocative, topical lyrics, passionate musical delivery, and a charmingly witty stage presence.

Kilgour began writing and performing her own songs in 2005. She was invited to join recording artist Catie Curtis on a tour of the Midwest as an opener and backup musician in 2006 and again the following year. Her original music was received well enough that she decided to break from the pursuit of a Music Education degree in order to focus on a career as a performer.

In 2007 Kilgour married and enthusiastically took on the role of step-parent to her wife's young daughter. She released her long-awaited debut album in December 2008 and a second release, "Will You Marry Me?" in January 2011. Both albums give an earnest glimpse into the life and politics of a young woman turned wife, mother and advocate for a generation of dissatisfied global citizens.  In February 2013, Kilgour released "Whistleblower's Manifesto," a three-song EP that focuses on issues of social injustice and showcases her innate ability to challenge and inspire listeners.

Kilgour has performed across the country in coffeehouses, concert series and radio studios as well as protests and picket lines. Shes shared the stage with such folk luminaries as Cheryl Wheeler and Greg Brown and, specifically as of 2015, has made a big splash in the folk world with her vulnerable and driven performances.  Kilgour was chosen as the Grand Prize Winner of the 2015 NewSong Music Contest. The win earned her a performance at the ASCAP Cafe at theSundance Film Festival, a future performance of her own at the Lincoln Center in NYC, and an EP recorded and produced in Asheville, NC at the Echo Mountain Studio. Kilgour also took fifth place in the 2015 Telluride Troubadour Competition and was named the winner of the 2015 LEAF NewSong Contest in North Carolina.

Following her 2014 divorce, Kilgour has written a collection of new, powerfully intimate material. She is currently recording a full-length album of the work in the Boston area with audio engineer Crit Harmon and producer Catie Curtis. The album is set to be released in spring of 2016.

Korby Lenker

Growing up in Idaho, singer, songwriter, guitarist, and multi-instrumentalist Korby Lenker started taking piano lessons in 1984 at the age of eight, and he really never looked back, stating that he never had a backup plan, that "it was always gonna be music." He had a band in high school, Clockwork Orange, which did new wave and rock covers, and while attending Western Washington University in Bellingham, he formed a regionally successful alt-bluegrass band called the Barbed Wire Cutters in the late 1990s.

When the Cutters broke up following a pair of well-received albums -- 2002's self-titled Barbed Wire Cutters and 2003's Full Moon to Rise -- he moved to Seattle to focus on a solo career. Blessed with considerable acoustic guitar skills in multiple styles, and a versatile, flexible singing voice, Lenker worked hard on his songwriting, developing an accessible, non-impressionistic style that hid subtle sophistications, a bit like Paul Simon, say, or a poppier Randy Newman, combining an ease of delivery with strong song character and substance. He moved to Nashville in 2007.

Lenker has released several solo albums, starting with First Takes in 2001 and including Ghost of Whiteboy in 2002 and Bellingham in 2003. He began moving in a more rock- and pop-oriented, but still largely acoustic-based, direction with 2006's impressive King of Hearts. The self-titled Korby Lenker appeared in 2014.
