THREADS: An Evening of Dances
THREADS DANCE EVENT featuring many new works by choreographers Katy Hagelin of Katy Hagelin Dance Project (www.katyhagelin.com); Sarah Seder of Sapience Dance Collective, Victoria Jacobs of Sapience Dance Collective; Kenaniah Bystrom; Victoria McConnell.
Part of the Fremont Abbey's mission is to be a vibrant community venue that provides a supportive space for artistic development and educational opportunities for artists. As Fremont Abbey's Dance Curator, Karin Stevens identified and invited choreographers who participated in the Abbey's recently launched annual movement arts event, A Moving Conversation.
Like A Moving Conversation, Karin has gathered the dance makers presenting in THREADS and the Fremont Abbey is supporting the deepening of conversations and community around and through the art of dance. An annual event conceived and curated by Stevens, is designed to bring together emerging and established choreographers with each other and with the audience in performance and conversation.
