Árstíðir in Concert w/ KeL do Nascimiento

Árstíðir got off to a dream start in 2008 with two number one hits on Icelandic National Radio. The eponymous debut album was released in 2009.

In 2011 Árstíðir released their second album Svefns og vöku skil. It was recorded with Ólafur Arnalds as producer, and mastered by German composer/producer Nils Frahm.

Over the years the band has toured over 30 countries in three continents. A video of the band doing an impromtu a capella performance of the Icelandic hymn "Heyr himna smiður" in a German train station wowed the world after going viral, now with over 3.8 million views.

During their first U.S. tour, of which this is the only DC area performance, Árstíðir will showcase songs from its third studio album Hvel, recorded in Toppstöðinn, an old abandoned power station in Reykjavík.

Special guests for this evening will be the River Hill High School Choir.

Talent, charisma, style and attitude are only some of the many virtues that define KeL do Nascimento. At only 25 years of age, the Brazilian singer has already won not just the hearts of Brazil, but also of Boston, Los Angeles and NewYork, where she lives today. Kel's cultural plurality is translated to the language of music on her new album. It unites elements of Brazilian music to the vanguard of the America pop/electronic sound. Her compositions are marked by well-tailored synths and complex harmonies, accompanied by catchy melodies, which brings a unique identity to the album.

KeL do Nascimento was already catching people's attention even before she left Berklee College of Music, where she graduated in Composition and Performance. Her single "Busca" was recorded at the college's Radio and TV studios and has more than forty thousand views on Youtube, which led her to release her first EP. "Busca" shows a more organic side to her music, emphasizing the artist's versatility.
