Baltimore Rhythm Festival Evening Concert 2017
Urban Foli, Africa Unplugged, and Rufus Roundtree and Da B'more Brass Factory will perform Saturday Sept. 16 in the Evening Concert of the Baltimore Rhythm Festival. The concert caps a day of celebration and culture following the afternoon free festival and promises to be an unforgettable event.
The concert flows from the rich traditions of African musical creativity and spirit. Urban Foli featuring Menes Yahudah honors and extends West African Djembe orchestra forms in a showcase of Baltimore's vibrant drum scene. African Unplugged led by Atiba Rorie travels from Durham North Carolina and hooks up these roots with guitars and bass to funky, reggae inspired songs and grooves. The evening concludes with Rufus Roundtree's joyous "Balti-Gras" sound, connecting New Orleans African roots to brass band power and contemporary flare.
The concert will be at the Auditorium of the Baltimore City Public Charter School, 1600 Guilford Ave. in Station North. Doors open from the schoolyard behind the school (where the festival will be rocking all afternoon) at 7:00, and the show begins at 7:30
