A New Message For Smokey investigates the true nature of forest fires, a natural phenomenon often depicted inaccurately within media and politics. Forest fires across North America are as natural as sunshine and rain, and have been burning regularly since the end of the last ice age. Demonstrating the rare and restorative nature of fires, this film presents a contrary reality to the depiction of forest fires presented by the media, politicians, the timber industry, and the US Forest Service.
