About the Instructors:
Sarah Field has been inspired by yoga's transformative power since she took her first asana class in 2001, and has returned to the mat ever since to find clarity, connection, and presence. Sarah completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training with Leah Gillman at Barefoot Movement in Oakland, California, and her 300-hour yoga therapy training at the YogaLife Institute in Exeter, NH. She has additional training in restorative yoga, trauma-informed teaching, and yoga for youth.
Sarah currently teaches yoga asana classes at Yoga Sanctuary and the Hampshire Regional YMCA, in Northampton. Students of all body types and experience levels are welcome in Sarah's classes, which emphasize continuous breath-centered movement and the cultivation of a strong, balanced, and peaceful mind and body.
In her free time, Sarah likes getting her hands dirty in the garden and the woods, reading her way through the library and the internet, and skipping the small talk to get to the good stuff (preferably over snacks and/or campfires). Sarah lives in Northampton. MA with her exuberant dog, Kali, and many resilient houseplants.
Rebecca Poretsky is a professional improviser (yes, that is a thing!) and actor. She's a company member with the acclaimed BATS Improv in San Francisco, where she regularly performs in all kinds of improvised theater shows, and coaches classes of all levels at the BATS School of Improv. She's also performed with improv groups and theaters Awkward Dinner Party, Couples Therapy Improv, Speechless, and the Un-Scripted Theatre Company.
As a member of the BATS Improv @ Work team, the Applied Improvisation Network, and independently, Rebecca facilitates trainings that apply improvisational principles to help teams in businesses and organizations work better together, let go, and have fun.
If she is not performing or teaching improv, you will ideally find Rebecca on her trusty orange bicycle, working on her handstands, or anxiously rearranging the stacks of books that she has yet to read around her apartment. Rebecca lives in San Francisco with her spotty dog Pebbles and spends too much time listening to podcasts. Find her online at: rebeccaporetsky.com.
