BLUEPRINTS PIANO SERIES: ephemera
Our ephemera blueprint, for the April 2nd program, is inspired by a work of the same name by living composer Jesse Jones. So much of nature is transitory fleeting and brief. Rather than fear this brevity, or try to grab hold of transitory entities in an effort to preserve them, we should accept them as ephemeral, and love them as such. This concert embraces the ephemeral, from an emotionally scattered Allegro by Robert Schumann to a spontaneous improvisation by Glenn Zaleski, other works by Johannes Brahms, Frederic Chopin, Morton Feldman, Anton Webern, and Scott Wollschleger, and feature pianists Daniel Anastasio, Christina Dahl, Mikael Darmanie, Erika Dohi, Yerin Kim, Karl Larson, and Glenn Zaleski.
