Beauty of Survival 30th Annual Benefit

Violence Intervention Program, Inc. (VIP) is pleased to invite you to join us as we celebrate our 30th anniversary during our annual cocktail benefit, The Beauty of Survival , Thirty Years of Cultivating Strength. The event will take place on October 23, 2014 at the Museum of the City of New York. We are very excited to announce this year's event will honor Rose Pierre-Louis, Commissioner of the Mayor's Office to Combat Domestic Violence as well as the co-founders of the Latina Attorney Network, Cafecitos, Executive Deputy Attorney General Karla Sánchez and Natalia Martin. This joyous event will be emceed by La Bruja.

Thirty Years ago, VIP was founded as a grassroots East Harlem initiative to address the growing prevalence of domestic violence within the Latino community. Today, we provide a continuum of services to tens of thousands of survivors of domestic violence each year including emergency and transitional housing programs with supportive services for survivors and their children, crisis intervention, support groups, leadership training, financial literacy skills training, advocacy, and awareness building all aimed at the Latino community. Your support will help us fulfill our mission and will allow us to fund critical services that survivors of domestic violence require in order to reach safety and as they strive to build skills that will lead them to economic self-sufficiency.

Over the last 5 years, The Beauty of Survival has successfully raised thousands of dollars to help women find a path toward self-sufficiency.
