Peggy Seeger Concert
Songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, song-catcher, political activist, and scion of the first family of folk music, the Seegers, Peggy Seeger is truly a living legend. She was a role model for the feminist song movement and helped revive the English folk music scene in the 50's and 60's. Since then, Peggy has accomplished and contributed greatly to the folk music field in Britain and the U.S.
Peggy has not been content to sit on her laurels and though she is now 78, age has not staled her infinite variety or caused her to slow down her frenetic schedule of writing, touring, recording, and speaking out against injustice. For the past decade or so, she has divided her time between America, the country of her birth, and England, the land where she raised her children. After two "farewell to the U.S" tours, Peggy just can't stay away. Traveling with her grandson Alex MacColl, Peggy will be doing a driving tour of the east coast and FSGW has been fortunate enough to book her for the enjoyment of our members and the community.
